Please join us in celebrating a new collaboration between Magpies and Peacocks, a non-profit design house, and The Fairy Godmother Project of Houston as we kick off this year's fundraiser and dress drive. FGP is a 501c(3) non-profit organization which provides prom, graduation and homecoming attire for male and female students in the greater Houston area who can not afford it. The Fairy Godmother Project was founded by journalist Ellen Chang.
The students get to choose their attire with the help of volunteers who serve as personal shoppers during a unique annual shopping day. This year's shopping day will be held at Magpies and Peacocks in the spring before prom season kicks off. The Fairy Godmother Project of Houston is also partnering with Prom Party-Palooza, a prom held at MD Anderson Cancer Center and hosted by Peli Peli. Thomas Nguyen, a co-founder of Peli Peli, will be speaking about his restaurant's program – throwing a prom in April for children and teenagers who are unable to leave the hospital. Henry Richardson, the founder of DEFINE, who has hosted many previous shopping days for FGP, will also speak about the company hosting dress drives in February and March at all seven Houston locations.
Join us to kick off the program as we will be collecting gently used prom and special occasion gowns and dresses, suits, tuxes, jewelry and cosmetics.
Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be served. A $20 donation is suggested and proceeds will go towards the purchase of tux rental gift certificates and other attire. For more information, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
