Re:ne(w) by René Garza, for Magpies & Peacocks – is based on the concept that resource sustainability is the responsibility of every individual.
The Re:ne(w) collection is entirely up-cycled from post consumer textiles donated to Magpies & Peacocks, a non-profit design house (501c3) dedicated to the collection and sustainable reuse of fashion, textiles and accessories – their programs are designed to disrupt the cycle of waste in the garment industry. Each look in the Re:ne(w) collection has been constructed from bolt ends, waste fabric and donated clothing from local businesses, individuals, and even includes materials harvested from Super Bowl 51 during M&Ps work with the NFL Environmental Sustainability Department post game. Re:ne(w) has had three capsule collections this year, and we are proud to say that two of the pieces of the collection were selected to show at London Fashion Week as part of a seven stop tour for Fashion for Conservation Elephantasia 2017 and were featured in British Vogue.
