Magpies & Peacocks are proud to be in curriculum at The Art Institute of Houston! A career in the arts starts with a sound foundation and with a tag line of 'Creativity For Life' the AIH is the embodiment of just that. Not only do we get to host 'Advanced Product Development' Classes at their campus but they are our Education Partner for 2016 Catwalks & Classrooms, our Sustainable Student Designer Showcase Exhibit in October, which we kicked off in style with a one week up-cycled bridal challenge to open the runway show at David Tutera's Your Wedding Experience at Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center. As part of the year round competition participating AIH students amongst others, create capsule collections from donated material from our Resource Library. This deconstruction | reconstruction class is an essential tool in preparing young designers for a sustainable future in fashion. As part of the final exhibit we present their work to a bevy of arts industry and media leaders across many fields providing essential connections for their transition into a career in the arts. This year we will also be including the award winning culinary department and drawing on the skills of their photography and media departments for a truly unique event! We are proud to be partnering in the future face of the arts in Houston. #AIHProud
