Animal Champions Houston PetSet and Magpies & Peacocks

Our friends Tena Lundquist Faust and Tama Lundquist, as founders of Houston PetSet, raise essential funds for other animal causes through their Annual Fierce & Fabulous Soirée held each September. We have been huge fans of their program and make it our business to support them in any way we can! Houston PetSet is a 501(c)(3) umbrella organization that provides grants to Houston-area animal nonprofits. Their goal is to help those who are “in the trenches” on a daily basis rescuing, spaying, neutering, fostering, adopting and protecting Houston’s homeless animal population. Now how could we not love that?

As part of our ongoing collaboration with Houston PetSet, M&Ps will be rolling out our exclusive collection of hand made up-cycled collars (and cuffs) to more stores and boutiques throughout Houston and they will be also available online.

Houston PetSet supports nonprofits that do animal rescue, spay and neuter, anti-cruelty campaigns and investigations, animal street feeding, education, animal transport, fostering, and other efforts that provide support and protection to many of Houston’s homeless animals. They are partners with Houston Humane Society and Crime Stoppers of Houston. There are an estimated 1.2 million homeless animals in Houston and over 100,000 euthanized every year. This is a financial, environmental and social drain on our City. Animal nonprofits work on the front lines daily to avoid this fate for thousands of dogs and cats every year. Houston PetSet has granted nearly $1 million to help fund these efforts and believe that through their fundraising efforts, other animal nonprofits can focus on core competencies that help mitigate suffering.
